Porter MBE

Since joining the BBC in the early nineties Dr Mark Porter has pursued an award-winning career in journalism while still working as a GP at his busy NHS practice in the Cotswolds.

He currently presents Radio 4's flagship medical series Inside Health, reports on medical issues for BBC1’s The One Show and is a columnist at The Times.

Mark spent 5 years working in hospital before moving into General Practice in 1990 where he still works today as a partner in a busy surgery in South Gloucestershire.

Mark's relaxed no-nonsense approach has made him a popular choice for presenting live TV and radio shows - from BBC's Watchdog to C5's Doctor Doctor and for chairing large conferences and symposia.

In the last year, Mark has chaired meetings for key opinion leaders in subjects as diverse as the Microbiome, HIV and Malaria at congresses across the world including Europe, USA and Africa.
