In 2007, Alexander, along with his Armstrong and Miller co-star, Ben Miller reprised their roles for three more series. The show went on to win Best Comedy Programme at the 2010 BAFTA awards.
As a television presenter, Alexander has fronted the hugely popular BBC quiz Pointless since 2009. He has also hosted Alexander Armstrong’s Big Ask, Epic Win and Have I Got News For You. In 2015, he presented the documentary series, In the Land of Midnight Sun for ITV, in which he embarked on an epic 8000-mile journey halfway around the Arctic Circle.Alexander has also travelled to Italy to document the BBC series Rome’s Invisible City (2015) which saw him explore the hidden tunnels of Italy’s capital. He returned to Italy to rediscover the country’s treasured history in the recent documentary, Italy’s Invisible Cities (2017).
In 2010, Alexander found out that he was a descendant of William the Conqueror after he appeared on the BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? .Alexander also collaborated on a documentary marking the 20th anniversary of The Full Monty as part of an awareness project for prostate and testicular cancer.
Alexander has also made a career for himself in classical music. In 2015, he joined the Warner Music Group and began working on a medley of songs for his debut album, A Year of Songs. The album reached number six on the UK Albums Chart in its first week and is the first actor to top the UK Classical Charts. In 2016, he released his second album, Upon a Different Shore and toured the UK promoting his music.
Hugely popular on the corporate circuit Alexander is in high demand for awards hosting, after dinner speaking and PR campaigns.
